Private CSV analysis
Understand a bank export without handing over a bank connection.
OpenFinance is a free, open-source finance dashboard for deliberate monthly reviews. Import a compatible bank CSV, inspect the result, and keep the financial contents on your device.
How the workflow differs
No account connection
You choose and download the period to analyze. OpenFinance never asks for banking credentials.
Local processing
The browser parses and stores the imported CSV locally. Read the privacy page before using sensitive files.
Manual verification
You remain responsible for checking dates, signs, transfers, balances, duplicates, and categories against source records.
Compatible generic CSV structure
The fallback parser looks for a recognizable date column plus either an amount column or separate debit and credit columns. It can also use common description, category, and balance headings. Compatibility is not guaranteed merely because a file uses the .csv extension.
What you can explore
- Monthly and category spending
- Searchable transactions and category corrections
- Recurring-transaction candidates
- Cash-flow visualization and savings rate
- Net-worth history when compatible balance information exists
- Personal spending goals and reusable categorization rules
Limitations
OpenFinance does not provide live balances, bank reconciliation, guaranteed categorization, tax preparation, investment advice, or professional accounting. It is not appropriate as the sole record for decisions requiring audited or legally reliable financial information.
